This is the best food, EVER. I have 2 rescue cats, both of whom had a rough start in life, but are the happiest of felines now that they are getting FirstMate canned food. My boys coats are GORGEOUS, their eyes clear and sharp, and allergies are gone!! GONE! If you have never tried this food, TRY IT! Literally the best! No weird cat food smell, just good, clean food! Special share, their poop doesn’t smell as foul either. (bonus)
I am so happy that my picky eaters love this food!! It’s also great that you can easily switch flavors up w/out upsetting their tummies!

My cats had loved this food for a long time & I have been delighted that is is made in Canada. Both cats’ fur is silky & shiny. For some reason, they began to reject the pate style. Will the company consider offering chunky style, as I am leery of having to purchase other brands made in Thailand. The cats love the chunky style of Weruva Pretty in Pink, but I would rather go back to FirstMate!

Hi Carole,
We have no immediate plans to make a chunky style product though that does not mean we will not have one in the future. Cats as we are sure you know can be very selective when it comes to texture. We produce a variation of our salmon in 3 different categories all of which have a slightly different texture. We have a number of cat owners that have found success on our FirstMate Grain Friendly Salmon or KASItS Salmon where the LID may not have been a fit. This is true the other way around also, just depends on the cats preference. We would highly recommend testing a can of each! Of course if they are not a fit the product can be returned for a full refund. We hope you will share your feedback with us!!

For unknown reasons, neither of my cats have taken to this product. A shame for this looks like a very reasonable product, and I know both cats love salmon, as well as tuna. I’ll try other First Mate products since I wish to encourage and offer my business to a Canadian company. They already eat dried food from First Mate and love it, so it’s a mystery to me why the wet food doesn’t get their ‘seal of approval’.
I still give this product 3 stars for the company’s dedication to offer ecologically sound products.
