FirstMate's Beef uses pasture-raised New Zealand Beef without added hormones or antibiotics. This limited ingredient diet is great for dogs with allergies and diet restrictions. Fewer ingredients make this formula easy on digestion.
The chicken fat used in FirstMate Pet Foods is processed free of protein, eliminating the risk of allergies derived from chicken.

Elizabeth Henry –
We picked up a sample at our local self wash doggie shop. Clifford ate this sample bag like it was a freshly grilled steak.
He’s my best friend and if he wants it, I will get it for his ASAP.
Thank you.

My dog loves it but it doesn’t come in small bites…it’s too hard for him to chew so I have to soften in for 30-45 min in warm water first, kind of an annoyance to do everyday.

I love ❤️ this product so far. I’m into my first bag and my dog loves it. I love the fact that has big size kibble since I have a Doberman (8 years old). I also love the fact that uses very clean ingredients since my dog struggles with allergies.
Angela –
My Great Dane loves this kibble but we really need a large breed version with much larger kibble. This is so small that she barely chews. Not healthy for her jaw or teeth. She sometimes burps up whole kibble. We may eventually have to switch brands for this reason alone.
Matt Wilson –
Hello Angela,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
We are sorry to hear that the size of our Beef kibble has not been ideal for your Great Dane. If fish is a protein that your pup enjoys, we would recommend trying our Pacific Ocean Fish Large Breed Formula for Dogs | FirstMate, which has a larger kibble size. The formula is similar, with the primary change being the protein source.
Another option is to introduce a warm-water soak for 2 minutes before serving our Beef formula. The additional moisture is beneficial for hydration and urinary health, and it may encourage chewing and improve digestion.
Please do not hesitate to contact us directly with any additional questions.
