Since 1989, FirstMate has been committed to providing pets with Proven Sustainable Nutrition.   Our nutritional philosophy is simple.  Proven Sustainable Nutrition means that we believe protein levels which have been recommended and proven throughout the years provide our pets with the optimal levels of nutrition.  While we continually strive to improve our diets through creative and healthy ingredients, FirstMate does not embrace fad diets or passing trends unless they are thoroughly time-tested and proven through scientific and nutritional research. 

Using only top quality ingredients, we carefully formulate simplistic, easily digestible and nutritionally sound diets which provide your dog or cat with ideal and safe levels of protein.     Many FirstMate formulations will also have the inclusion of fruits and berries, such as our Chicken with Blueberries diet.  What makes this grain-free diet unique is the high amount of blue berries we add, with their antioxidant benefits.   In addition, our protein and carbohydrates levels ensure healthy filtration of protein through the liver and kidneys.  We also encourage rotation through our single -source protein, grain- free diets which can also be used as elimination diets.    An elimination diet reduces the amount of allergy-causing ingredients while still delivering all the beneficial nutrition to your dog or cat.      FirstMate continues to offer it’s Classic line of dog and cat formulations which have provided a nutritionally sound performance for over 19 years.
